The world that unfolds before Lynne’s gaze is always dominated by an overwhelming silence. In the absolute vacuum that governs her photographs, the existence of sound is not permitted.
Even in a photograph where a massive iceberg is collapsing and a thunderous roar should be echoing, this is no exception.
Perhaps it is deep sorrow, or a compassion akin to the eyes of a god who seeks to forgive human folly despite it all, that brings this about.
Faced with the rapidly changing climate of the polar regions and animals on the brink of extinction, the message conveyed by the landscapes reflected in her unclouded mind focuses on a single point, piercing our hearts with sharp intensity.
And at that moment, her voice can be faintly heard: “Think with your own mind, and take action yourself.”
